Music, Tradition, and Flavors: Celebrating the Sahraneh at the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem

During Sukkot, the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem hosted the Sahraneh, a traditional Kurdish Jewish celebration of music, culture, and heritage that brings communities together to celebrate their shared roots and traditions.

The event was attended by Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, Deputy Mayor Ofer Ayubi, and Orit Dolev, Head of the Culture, Society, and Sports Administration at the Jerusalem Municipality.

The evening featured performances by Avner Zaken, Lior Amadi, Yishai Seydof, Hadassah Yeshurun, and other artists, with a special performance by Nofar Batat.

Alongside the musical performances, the celebration featured a procession of Torah scrolls, cultural and heritage displays, and stalls serving traditional foods, bringing the sounds, flavors, and traditions of the Sahraneh to the Museum.

The event brought together a diverse audience through music, tradition, and culture, reflecting the Museum’s ongoing commitment to fostering connections between communities and promoting mutual understanding, tolerance, and dialogue.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so special.

The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sport as part of its Summer Performances in Local Authorities program.
